Sounds like you crushed it this year, congrats! A full month sounds doable ONLY in December looking forward to see you make it happen. Curious to hear how you'd plan for a January dip or if you'd just accept it as the cost of a much needed break. Wishing you and your wife safe travels in your upcoming move!

Agree that December is the best month to do something like this! For now I'm just going to take the loss of revenue in January and bake that into how I price the other 11 months to make up for it.

Long long term I'd love to build a professor-like schedule, where I take clients in the Fall and Spring semesters and take a summer break too 😅

You're right, I've noticed a lot of fellow copywriters adopting that pricing style where they bake a winter break into their annual retainers. Works well for them.

A "professor schedule" with Spring and Fall semesters could definitely work too. I'm actually in the process of transitioning from marketing to engineering, so I've been freelancing for flexibility while getting my CS degree. My busiest times tend to be Aug-Nov and mid-Jan to May, so I'm usually super busy with clients during school months and near radio silence in June, July and December. I'm sure you can make it work!
